Shadowgraphy & Schlieren

Brief Course Description: Vision Research, AMETEK has designed an advanced hands-on course covering the use of Phantom high-speed cameras for characterizing transparent flows using Shawdowgraph- and Schlieren- imaging techniques. The course will open with lecture covering the fundamental physics that defines the key imaging principles, then have attendees participate in carefully designed high-speed imaging laboratories to develop critical skills and understanding. Each attendee will work toward configuring camera settings, aligning key optical components, capturing high-speed imaging data, and finally, performing measurements and analyses on image data.
